Highlights of 2018
2018 was a truly sensational year for us at Wembley Park.
We introduced our first year of seasonal curated events from Summer of Play, Light Up the Night and of course Xmasbox; saw new neighbours join us on Olympic Way and celebrated some milestones.
Take a look at our top 10 highlights of the 2018.
1. THE TOUR SERIES
Last May 2018, we hosted a key round of the OVO Energy Tour series race, Britain’s leading cycle race. It was such an incredible vibe at Wembley Park watching the top male and female cycling teams whizzing around the neighbourhood as they battled it out to be crowned Britain’s top team.
2. SUMMER OF PLAY
Oh summer 2018, what a scorching one you were. Recorded as one of the hottest summers with temperatures reaching 37 degrees – allowing us to showcase a curated outdoor programme. We had an array of outdoor movie screenings, including Bollywood nights; Over 300 hours of free activities for the whole family to enjoy; Summer installations including our Spanish steps under going a transformation into a work of art by artist Remi Rough; Listening to talented voices of London at International Busking Day and of course hosting The 5K Colour Run.
As part of our summer screenings, we hosted ‘Queen on Screen’ featuring the iconic 1986 live concert in Wembley Stadium on the big screen in Arena Square, but the ultimate screening of all had to be when we played host to the world premiere of Bohemian Rhapsody: The Movie at the SSE Arena, Wembley, where the remaining members of Queen walked the purple carpet to reminisce and rejoice.
4. BLACK SHEEP COFFEE
At the tail of summer, we welcomed edgy independent coffee shop retailer Black Sheep Coffee, who is changing the caffeine scene across London and recently launched in New York. Not only known for their coffee, the have mixed it up with cocktails and craft beer. Oh and their waffles and banging too.
Located next to Wembley Park station, be sure to dropp in for your morning coffee or evening cocktail.

London’s first ever outlet, located in Wembley Park, reached their milestone this year a celebrated with cake of course. But not just any type of cake – these cakes were shaped as the London Landmarks including Big Ben and the London Eye. It took more than 200 hours to put the four cakes together, using 35kg of sponge cake and 120kg of chocolate and icing. And was incredibly tasty!
8. LIGHT UP THE NIGHT
Following on from the success of last year’s fireworks nights, we decided to do a bigger and better one including the mash-up of Diwali and Bonfire night. From the Light parade, fire dancers, fire gardens and fireworks – this event truly lit up the skies. We cannot wait to do it again in 2019!

Boxpark Wembley. The venue we have been waiting 18 months for finally opened its doors in December, and what an opening party weekend it was. With over 20 independent food retailers and various events from bootcamps, football screenings and club nights – it is the ultimate location to Eat, Drink and Play.
