Emergency Exit Arts Workshops in Wembley Park
Make your mark on Wembley Park!
This August join a host of artists and other local residents in a series of creative workshops at Wembley Park to learn all about festival flag making and wood carving.
These workshops, a collaboration between Wembley Park and leading outdoor arts company Emergency Exit Art, will allow participants to directly work on art pieces that will be displayed as permanent public artworks around the grounds of Wembley Park in September.
Lead by visual artist, sculptor and internationally-renowned artist Helen Davenport, acclaimed wood carving artist and sculptor Stephen Stockbridge and leading illustrator Emma Barnie, all workshops are open to the general public and available for registration now. These artists will lead participants through different techniques in designing, painting, illustrating and carving, utilising traditional tools with natural materials.
The items made during these workshops – flags, benches, and totem poles – will be installed in Wembley Park in September as part of the Wembley Park’s ‘Summer of Play’.
This cultural programme, an initiative by Wembley Park, has offered over 300 hours of free entertainment offered to residents and visitors of Brent. These events have included screenings from National Theatre Live and popular Bollywood titles, a parkour festival and the Mayor of London’s International Busking Day.
