Family Fun at Wembley Park this Christmas
The Christmas holidays are just around the corner, which means you will have plenty of time to spend with family and loved ones. At this time of the year, Wembley Park is packed for things to do and there is something for everyone, so we’ve hand-picked some great activities for you enjoy.
1: Slide Down a giant LED Christmas Tree
It’s fun and it’s a world first at Wembley Park. Slideatron is an 18m scaffolding tree with an 20m thrill slide. It’s completely free to book and sliders can also take in the views at the open-air viewing platform, before they take the plunge down the thrill slide. After your feet are firmly planted back down on the ground, you can enjoy an hourly light show as the tree comes alive against the backdrop of funky, modern adaptions of classic Christmas tunes. We know all that sliding will make you thirsty so there is also an 80’s themed Maggie’s bar and a food market by MarketFest where you can refuel! We also have one last treat for anyone who survives the Slideatron, they will be handed over an exclusive discount booklet to the London Designer Outlet (LDO) where they can redeem a range of special offers, exclusive to sliders only!
2: Catch a show
The boy who never grew up is coming to the SSE Arena Wembley this Christmas from 29-30 December. Starring Bradley Walsh as Mr Smee, Martin Kemp as Captain Hook, and Matt Knight as Peter Pan, the story and characters will be brought to life by a cast of over 100 performers.
Expect BMX riders, stuntmen, trapeze artists and a 7m-long animatronic crocodile! This amazing new show will be performed across three stages and against a backdrop of a stunning movie-style Neverland set. This is definitely not one to miss and tickets can be booked here.
3: Grab some Christmas bargains
LDO is the perfect place to do your Christmas shopping. From stocking fillers to those very special and personal gifts, LDO has it all. What’s even better is that they are feeling in the festive spirit and are now offering even more discounts off their usual 70%.
4: Go and See Santa
Father Christmas will be at his Grotto at Ikea Wembley until 22 December. So why not bring the little ones into store to meet the main man himself. They will be thrilled as he will even be giving away small Christmas treats for them to take home and remember the occasion.
5: Start Your Christmas Dinner Early
Christmas is a magical time of the year, where it’s ok to treat yourself in whatever food or drink you like, whenever you like. The LDO have some great festive menus to encourage your indulgence and get you in the mood for the season. So whether you need to re-fuel after taking advantage of all the discounts, or would like to celebrate with family and friends, the LDO is a great spot and has a wide range of Christmas menus. However, this time we are putting the spotlight on Prezzo, who have loads of dishes to tempt your taste buds. You can tuck into any three courses and a glass of Prosecco for £22.95 or any two courses and a glass of prosecco for £19.95. Try their Christmas specials; which offer some great festive, foodie fun. Enjoy the Christmas Cracker shaped Calzone our Wild Mushroom and Goat’s Cheese Lasagne and end on a sweet note with Christmas Trifle, washed down with a Christmas Cosmo!
6: Grab a Coffee, mingle and relax
All that shopping, sliding, eating and drinking can leave you exhausted, so why not practice the art of relaxation this season at the Yellow Pavilion. This social space has a range of free activities for the family to enjoy. Head down on Wednesday afternoons between 12-2 for a parents coffee afternoon. This free meet is a space for parents to sit back and relax, catch up with other local parents and share tips as the little ones play. You can find a full programme and a list of classes here.
