Four facts you may not know about Jab Tak Hai Jaan

It was one of the biggest Bollywood films of its time, and now we are showing it for free on Saturday 30 June as part of our Bollywood night’s season. So come on down to Arena Square from 7:30 pm grab a deck chair and enjoy the screening. However, before you do, here are four interesting facts about the movie that you may not know?

 

  1. Jab Tak Hai Jaan was the last film that Director Yash Chopra shot before he died. Its release also coincided with Chopra’s golden jubilee in Bollywood. It turned out to be his 22nd and final film as a director.

 

  1. Yash Chopra’s son Aditya Chopra wrote the famous poem recited during the film. Later, the verse was added to the official soundtrack of the movie.

  1. Chopra initially planned to shoot the final iconic scene in Kashmir. However, after much debate, the climax was filmed in Ladakh

 

  1. Jab Tak Hai Jaan was the first film directed by Yash Chopra that did not have a single song sung by Lata Mangeshkar. Usually, all or most of the songs in his movies are in Mangeshkar’s voice.
