JOHNNIE WALKER has placed responsible drinking at the heart of its ten year partnership with the McLaren F1 Team and Formula 1®. Through its pioneering sponsorship, and with Mika Häkkinen as the Global Responsible Drinking Ambassador alongside Jenson Button & Fernando Alonso, JOHNNIE WALKER tackles these issues directly through the Join the Pact campaign.
At the 2014 FORMULA 1 SINGAPORE AIRLINES SINGAPORE GRAND PRIX, JOHNNIE WALKER announced a new commitment target for the Join the Pact responsible drinking campaign. The target is to collect 5 million pledges to Join the Pact by the end of 2018, and to continue to drive awareness around the world to never drink and drive. To honour the five million commitments, Johnnie Walker will give away 5 million kilometres of safe rides home globally.
Join the Pact Festive Event 2015
To follow on from the success of the Festive event held in Edinburgh last year, Johnnie Walker is staging its 2015 event in London, at Wembley Park, this Friday, the 4th December.
At the 2015 British Grand Prix, Johnnie Walker activated Join the Pact by branding the McLaren Honda F1 car with #JOINTHEPACT & the THINK! Logo. McLaren F1 drivers, Jenson Button & Fernando Alonso, Ron Dennis, McLaren CEO and Eric Boullier, McLaren F1 Racing Director also signed the car to show their commitment. During the Grand Prix weekend 65,000 commitments were collected and this year’s festive event will be an ideal time to give back the 65,000 Safe Rides Home.
At the event we will have, Johnnie Walker Responsible Drinking Ambassador, Mika Häkkinen along with McLaren Honda F1 Drivers, Jenson Button & Fernando Alonso and McLaren Honda F1 Reserve Driver Stoffel Vandoorne.
McLaren Automotive have also agreed to supply the event with their suite of supercars –675LT, 650S & 570S. We will also have the Caparo (2 Seater F1 Car) in attendance.
All four drivers will be engaging with media and consumers to spread the responsible drinking message. They will also be giving passenger rides to a lucky few to demonstrate that you must always be in control.
