To celebrate International Women’s day the Yellow pavilion will be holding an event entitled “Let’s celebrate women.” The evening will consist of panel members, all of which are local women celebrating their difference and discussing what it’s like to be a woman in modern society. Shilpa Bilimoria is the designer and founder of House of Bilimoria. Her love of tailoring grew from an early age as she was immersed and surrounded by textures, haberdashery and traditional machinery.
She graduated with a BA (Hons) in Design for Fashion and Textiles, however, she describes her education as a ‘formality’ stating that her skill and experience has come from many years of hands on work deconstructing and reconstructing garments and textiles.
Clare Monahan is the Team manager of Brent Works, an employment services based within Brent Council. With a background in 12 step principled counselling, CBT and Psychodynamic therapy. Clare is passionate about empowering individuals to access change, particularly women who have experienced childhood trauma and substance misuse.
Andrea Queens is a creative and performance artist who works internationally with dance, music and poetry. Andrea is also the founder and director of AQ Arts which provide eevent entertainment for corporate companies and private clients. AQ Arts also provides community art and wellbeing activities and professional development opportunities.
Claire Clottey is a multi-award winning presenter and producer renowned for being a socially conscious commentator in the world of media and events. Passionate about empowering and championing young people, women and those from the BAME community, Claire is a well-known voice and name on Radio – The Beat FM, BBC 5 Live and is also known in the community for her charity development work.
