Made from 26 individual purpose-built studios, this is a designated space made for small businesses, artists and other creatives. The studio set-up is the first of its kind and has been created to cater for those looking for inspiration in a vibrant space, at affordable rates.

Open studio events also give artists and creatives a chance to open their doors and allow the public in. There they can showcase and sell their work, services or designs all commission-free.

About Second Floor Studios & Arts (SFSA)

Working artists have had it tough over recent years with rising rents and thousands of creative spaces and artists studios lost all over London. Supporting artists with affordable studio workspace since 1997, Second Floor Studios & Arts haven’t just been trying to give artists back their much-needed studio spaces at affordable prices, they have also built a supportive environment that celebrates advocacy, innovation and shared knowledge.

Second Floor Studios & Arts (SFSA) is a leading arts organisation and the group opened the new studios in Wembley Park in 2018. The initiative was delivered through a partnership with Quintain, the developers behind Wembley Park and the support of Brent Council.

There are currently four SFSA sites across in the UK with over 175 studio members, including Wembley Park.

Why you should check out Second Floor Studios

Wembley Park is undergoing a huge regeneration program and has come alive with activity in recent years. From retail to restaurants, street food markets to regular events, it’s easy to see why this area is attractive to artists and creatives looking for inspiration and space to work.

Not only this, but this boom in creativity means there is an increasing demand for work and studio space in the area. Which is why the local council is thrilled to be able to provide these purpose-built studios at affordable prices. More than this, Second Floor Studios has been created for the community with some of the other key aims being:

  • To provide long-term affordable employment space for artists, makers and designers
  • To create a supportive environment that will inspire them and help them to flourish
  • The physical studio space will encourage community, partnerships and collaboration
  • Open studio events and outreach projects will enable the community to participate in and learn through visual arts
  • Lastly, these studios will promote the role of arts, design and creatives in the regeneration of towns and cities by meeting the cultural needs of the community and any visitors to the area

Wembley Park is fast becoming a location of choice for both large and small businesses. Just 12 minutes from Baker Street on the Metropolitan or Jubilee line, the studios are conveniently located and offer an exciting opportunity for both creative and the public.
