The southern section of the park is now open and ready to welcome you.
Where is Union Park?
The southern section of Union Park can be found outside Quintain Living's Canada Gardens building on Engineers way, just opposite Yellow Car Park. The southern section currently features plenty of green space and seating, a children’s paddling pool and playgrounds, an amazing pond and even a bug hotel! There is also outdoor sports training equipment and a games area where you can play tennis and other sports, making Union Park the perfect outdoor gym and workout park.

Replacing Yellow Car Park, Union Park will be the first major park to open in the neighbourhood in 150 years and will be an amazing urban green space (seven-acres to be precise) for everyone to enjoy. Opening in two years, the northern section will have even more stunning water features, a community centre, public art, a dedicated area for pets to enjoy some ‘pet time’ off their lead and a new bandstand for free music and entertainment year-round.

Are barbecues allowed in the park?
No. Barbecues are not allowed in Union Park but Quintain has provided barbecues in the new residential buildings overlooking the park.

The playpark is designed for families with children below the age of 8 years old.

Why is it called Union Park and who chose its name?
The name ‘Union Park’ has two meanings. Firstly, it highlights the importance of community and coming together, a core part of the vision for Wembley Park. It also pays homage to Walter Citrine, the first Baron of Wembley and one of the leading British and international trade unionists in the 20th century. Baron Citrine was widely credited for providing the Trades Union Congress with the administrative backbone it needed to become the respected lobbying organisation it is today.

How does Union Park differ to other London parks?
The location is truly iconic, with the world-famous Wembley Stadium arch in the backdrop. While Wembley Park is known throughout the world for the major events hosted either at the National Stadium or The SSE Arena, Wembley, Union Park is a fitting new community space for the new neighbourhood that has been created in the space surrounding the Stadium - much of which is former coach and car parks.
Union Park is a space for the people living and working in Wembley Park, the hundreds of thousands living nearby and across the Borough of Brent, and those visiting the area. Union Park takes inspiration from the design philosophy of Sir Humphry Repton, who designed the original landscapes at Wembley Park in the 1790s. The mixture of the formal and informal, borrowed landscape views, and the ways in which buildings can enhance a landscape and the other way around.

How is the park expected to benefit the area, and reduce pollution in Brent?
The physical and mental benefits of green and blue spaces are well-documented, and the park provides for both. Wembley Park is a 15-minute neighbourhood and places an emphasis on public transport and active travel, all of which helps to improve air quality in Brent.

When will the north section of the park be open to the public?
The public will be able to start enjoying the north section of Union Park from late 2024. The north section of the park will feature a rugged, natural landscape, perfect for the public to relax in or enjoy music performances and art installations.

Where will people who currently park in the car park be able to park their car when the car park is gone?
Union Park is being developed on the site of a 1,000+ space car and coach park, which is being moved to a state-of-the-art, multi-storey car park nearby. This is to help ensure that as much space as possible can be enjoyed by the community without losing parking spaces. Union Park’s central location - moments away from Wembley Park tube station - will allow visitors easy access to fresh air and green space.
