Jelly Experiments Series by Lucy Hardcastle

Bobby Moore Bridge, Digital, 2023

This series of experimental digital films are inspired by the idea of suspended realities and physical illusions, as one of the key themes within Lucy’s practice. Her work intends to challenge the audience’s perception of reality by exploring fluidity, physics and reflections within photo-realistic environments. Lucy Hardcastle is an interdisciplinary designer and digital artist. Her work focuses on tactility, visual illusions and sensual aesthetics through digital rendered pieces, sculpture, set design and moving image. Her pieces highlight tensions between physical and virtual worlds and experiences, and aims to reconnect users and viewers with the material world through symbolism and metaphor.

Lucy Hardcastle's Jelly Experiments Series is part of a collection of digital artworks that will be displayed across Wembley park, curated by moving image artist Zaiba Jabbar. An award-winning director, curator and commissioner, she is the driving force behind the femme-focused Hervisions digital art collective.
