Afghan Supper Club

Four courses. Many stories. Join The Yellow on Saturday 5th March for an introduction to Afghan food, with all proceeds going towards Afghan families in Afghanistan.

Promoting a beautifully rich culture or Afghan people and their roots, with Afghan Table you’ll travel through various regions of the country and entwine with their journey as refugees arriving in the UK in the early 80’s.

Sharing the wonderful concept of Afghan hospitality ‘mehmanawazi’ (to share stories and show gratitude for the opportunities that life gives), the Supper Club consists of four courses:
STARTER
Showa: a soup based on seasonal produce (Warm . Fragrant . Light . Heat)


MAINS
Mantu: Dumplings filled with spiced meat sitting in a yoghurt sauce and topped with a sweet tomato paste (Moorish . Delightful . Delicate . Cool)
Kabuli Palu: Slow cooked lamb cooked in steamed rice, bejewelled with sweet carrots, raisins and toasted nuts (Fragrant . Spice . Moorish . Balanced)
Borani Banjan: Baked Aubergine layered in a garlic infused yoghurt sauce accompanied by freshly baked bread (Fresh . Spice . Fragrant . Cool)


SIDES
Salata: Afghan Salad (Fresh . Seasonal . Beautiful)


SWEET
Sheeryakh: Homemade Afghan Ice Cream (Fresh . Sweet . Spice)
Chai Sabz / Chai NaaNa: Afghan tea (Green . Mint . Spice) .


A selection of non-alcoholic drinks will be provided: Still/Sparkling Water . Dough/Shlombay (Afghan yoghurt drink) . Raspberry and pomegranate lemonade .
Menu can be adapted for vegetarian and/or vegan requirements.

Afghan Supper Club will be held at The Yellow in Wembley Park on Saturday 5th March. Event starts at 6pm. £15 per person with all proceeds going to Afghan families in Afghanistan. Book here.
