History of Subway
The first Subway store was opened in Bridgeport, Connecticut in 1965. The idea to open a submarine sandwich shop was given to founder Fred DeLuca when he was at college, as a way to pay his tuition fees. From such humble beginnings, Subway now has over 44,000 locations around the world.
