Pro Tip: Avoiding Delays After the Match

When 85,000 fans leave Wembley Stadium after England v Uruguay, Wembley Park station can become very busy, with wait times averaging 15 to 60 minutes. To avoid the crowds, consider walking to Wembley Central or North Wembley stations for a quicker journey home.

"After the final whistle, Wembley Park station uses a queuing system that can add 20 to 40 minutes to your journey. If you're not in a rush, stay for a drink at Boxpark or The White Horse and let the crowds thin out. You'll get a seat on the Tube instead of being sardined."

Boxpark Wembley England Fanpark: big-screen build-up

Boxpark Wembley is hosting a dedicated England Fanpark for England v Uruguay on 27 March 2026. It is the biggest single pre-match venue in Wembley Park and the focal point for fans who want a high-energy build-up to the game.

What to expect

The England Fanpark runs from 11:00 to 23:00 on match day. Boxpark has three large bars and over 20 street-food vendors under one roof: Korean fried chicken, Neapolitan pizza from Zia Lucia, smash burgers from Nanny Bill's, Indian flatbreads, falafel and more. Fast-casual ordering, no table service, queues move quickly.

The atmosphere on England match days at Boxpark is loud, energetic and unapologetically football. Expect DJs, live music, MCs and possibly special guests. Big screens show the build-up and pre-match coverage. Wear your England shirt.

The Fanpark will not screen the match itself.

Entry rules and tickets

The England Fanpark is England fans only. You must hold a valid matchday ticket for the stadium. General admission for the Fanpark is approximately £10 plus a small booking fee via Eventbrite. Free or promotional tickets do not guarantee entry (first-come-first-served).

Age restrictions and house rules

Under-18s must be accompanied by a parent or guardian aged 25 or over. Boxpark becomes 18-plus after 20:00, physical ID required. Stay off the tables, no throwing items, keep banners in bags.

Is Boxpark right for you?

Go to Boxpark if you are a group of friends who want the biggest, noisiest England atmosphere with street food and drinks on tap.

Choose somewhere else if you are with young children, prefer a calmer setting, or want a sit-down meal. London Designer Outlet, Bread Ahead, Pasta Remoli and The White Horse all offer a more relaxed pre-match experience.

"The walk up Olympic Way on an England night is one of the great matchday experiences in football. The arch lit up overhead, 85,000 people heading the same direction, the noise building. Get there early and take it in."

Seating plan, stands and views

Wembley Stadium has 90,000 capacity (85,000 for this fixture). The bowl is divided into three tiers.

Lower tier

Closest to the pitch. Atmosphere is typically louder, particularly behind the goals. The trade-off is you may not see the full shape of the game from front-row corners.

Club Wembley (middle tier)

Primarily hospitality. Many fans consider this the best overall sightline. Access to lounges, restaurants and private bars.

Upper tier

Panoramic views of the entire pitch. You can see every pass, every run, every formation shift. The Wembley arch overhead and the view down into the floodlit bowl is memorable.

Wembley Stadium's website has a virtual seat viewer to check the view from your block and row.

Queues, security and getting inside

For an 85,000-capacity sell-out on a Friday evening, plan for queues at the turnstiles.

Arrive before 18:30 if you can. The worst queues form between 18:45 and 19:15. Use the turnstile nearest your seat rather than the one closest to Olympic Way.

If you have no bag, you will move through security faster. Half-time queues for food and drink are notoriously long. Stock up before kick-off or go five minutes before the whistle.

Everything inside is cashless. Contactless card or mobile payment only.

"Half-time at Wembley is chaos. If you want a beer or a burger at the break, go five minutes before the whistle. Or eat well at Boxpark or one of the Wembley Park restaurants beforehand and skip the queue entirely."

For Boxpark, under-18s must be with a parent or guardian aged 25+. The venue becomes 18-plus after 20:00.
