Children playing in the fountain at Summer on Screen in Wembley Park

Family guide to Wembley Park

It can be hard to find fun and free things to do with the whole family in London.

Thankfully, Wembley Park is perfect for families, offering family-friendly dining, unique activities, and free events and entertainment. In addition, it's well-connected by transport links, there are baby-change facilities throughout the area, and there's always something buzzy and fun happening.

Things to do in Wembley for kids

Here are some of our favourite family activities this summer at Wembley Park.

Free outdoor cinema screening

Our hugely popular free outdoor cinema screenings are back for 2021. With an amazing lineup of Hollywood Blockbusters and family-friendly films, the 100% free, 100% open-air cinema will run from 29th July to 5th September and is suitable for all ages. Click here for a sneak peek at the lineup (full lineup coming Monday 19th July).

Enjoy Wembley Park Restaurants, New and Old

Eating out with kids can be a challenge. While some little ones are adventurous eaters, others have very definite ideas about they will and won't eat. Thankfully, Wembley Park has a wide array of restaurants that kids of all ages enjoy. The London Designer Outlet is home to all of your family's high street favourites, including Pizza Express, Pasta Remoli, Frankie & Benny's, Nando's, TGI Friday's, and Wagamama.

New to the LDO is Byron Burgers, one of the most popular gourmet burger chains in the country. They have tons of kid-friendly choices, including mini veggie, chicken, and beef burgers and kid-sized milkshakes. Finish it off with something every kid loves – puddings and sweets. Brand new to Wembley Park, Haute Dolci serves decadent desserts in a luxury setting. They even fly their award-winning gelato in from Italy – that's dedication to deliciousness.

Treat the Family to Lindt Chocolates

Feeling like a sweet treat? LDO is home to a Lindt Outlet where you can buy delicious Swiss chocolate for up to 70% off regular retail prices. Shop for chocolate bars, truffles, and their legendary' pick & mix' selection, the largest in London.

Learn About Art on the Wembley Park Art Trail

Wembley Park's fantastic Art Trail allows you to learn about art and discover new artists alongside your kids. Walk throughout Wembley Park and admire all 14 pieces, from digital installations to colourful street art. Kids are fascinated by public art – don't be surprised if your jaw drops right alongside theirs. There are three new pieces on display until 30 September, including 'Inside Out' by French artist JR. These works of art make great backdrops to a family photoshoot.

Enjoy the Beautiful Outdoors

Whether you're relaxing in the local pocket parks or sitting in the grass at Elvin Gardens, sometimes it's just nice to sit and relax in the sun. Wembley Park is home to a diverse collection of outdoor spaces, ideal for picnics, sipping a coffee, or just playing with your kids.

Dine Al Fresco

Most Wembley Park restaurants pivoted during the pandemic to offer a lot of extra outdoor dining areas. Now, you and your family can dine outdoors in all-weather at some of your top picks – just request a table on the patio or in the garden. We love al fresco dining, and so will your kids. Pick and choose from adventurous street food at BOXPARK Wembley Park, Italian American classics at Frankie and Benny's, or everyone's favourite chicken at Nando's.

Enjoy Play Parks and Games for the Whole Family

Kids love playing at Wembley Park, and adults have a great time, too. The entire area is dotted with playgrounds and play parks, including the epic all-weather play park. It's located just opposite the London Designer Outlet, and fully covered for year-round entertainment. Kids will have a blast on the slide, foundation, shoot, and two climbing frame towers.

Slightly older kids love joining their parents for some wild and wonderful play opportunities around Wembley Park. Together, you can play music-themed crazy golf at Pop Golf, throw axes at Bad Axe, or immerse yourselves in a virtual reality wonderland at meetspaceVR.

Immerse Yourself in a 4x Cinema Experience

Seeing a film in the cinema is always a memorable outing, but the 4X experience takes it to the next level. Cineworld Wembley Park is one of the first cinemas in the country to offer 4X, which adds stimulating effects to your movie. Water, scent, strobe lights, and wind help the story and characters leap off the screen. Your kids will absolutely love it.

There's So Much for Families in Wembley Park

Your family will love spending the day at Wembley Park, eating delicious food, playing fun games, and watching world-class entertainment. You won't struggle to find things to do this summer – we have your family covered.
